GNAPH Climate and Health Communities of Practice: Cross-Regional Learning Exchange

Week 8 of the Global Network for Academic Public Health (GNAPH) Climate and Health Community of Practice (CoP) was held on 6 August 2026 as a joint cross-regional learning exchange involving APACPH, CAPHIA, and SEAPHEIN.

The session brought together participants from the Western Pacific and South Asia to reflect on the first seven training sessions and share experiences in integrating climate and health concepts into public health education.

The exchange focused on lessons learned, curriculum integration, teaching approaches, assessment strategies, and opportunities for future collaboration across the GNAPH network. APACPH shared experiences from previous sessions addressing heat waves, air pollution, and floods and vector-borne diseases, highlighting the importance of interdisciplinary engagement, stakeholder involvement, and context-specific approaches.

The session concluded with strong agreement on the value of cross-regional collaboration in moving climate and health education from theory to implementation and developing more contextually relevant and competency-based approaches.
