The Asia-Pacific Academic Consortium for Public Health (APACPH) is pleased to participate in the Climate and Health Communities of Practice (CoP), a global initiative jointly established by the Global Network for Academic Public Health (GNAPH) and the Global Consortium on Climate and Health Education (GCCHE).
The Communities of Practice were created to support collaboration among public health educators and institutions working to strengthen climate and health education. Building on the Climate-Ready Classrooms programme, the initiative provides a platform for sharing experiences, educational resources, and practical approaches to integrating climate and health into public health curricula.
As a member of the Global Network for Academic Public Health, APACPH contributes the perspectives and experiences of the Asia-Pacific region to this international effort. Representing APACPH is Dr Bala Murali Sundram of the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya, who serves as the regional lead for the Asia-Pacific Community of Practice.
The Communities of Practice bring together representatives from regional public health networks across the world, highlighting the importance of international collaboration in addressing the health impacts of climate change. Current regional representatives include:

Through regular discussions and knowledge exchange, participants explore innovative teaching approaches, curriculum development, and opportunities for collaboration to better prepare the future public health workforce for climate-related health challenges.
APACPH values this opportunity to contribute to a global network of educators committed to advancing climate and health education. By fostering collaboration across regions, the Communities of Practice strengthen collective efforts to equip future public health professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to respond to one of the most pressing public health challenges of our time.
