APACPH-KL, in collaboration with the Centre for Population Health (CePH), Department of Social and Preventive Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya, successfully conducted a one-day Health Economics Workshop titled “Economic Evaluation of Health Intervention: Cost-Effectiveness Analysis.” The workshop was held on 18 November 2025 at Bilik Fakulti, FOM, bringing together 58 participants representing diverse academic and professional backgrounds.

The workshop aimed to strengthen participants’ understanding of economic evaluation methods, with a focus on cost-effectiveness analysis (CEA) and its application in health research, service planning, and policy decision-making.

The programme featured expert-led sessions from distinguished speakers:
- Prof Maznah Dahlui — Introduction to Economic Evaluation
- Assoc Prof Mohd Hafiz Jaafar — Cost-Effectiveness Analysis Studies
- Assoc Prof Dr Amirah Azzeri — Costing for Cost-Effectiveness Analysis
- Debbie Muirhead — Applications of CEA with Selected Examples
- Prof Mark Jit — Cost-Effectiveness Analysis Modelling
- Dr Nithiah Thangiah — Study Designs for Economic Evaluation

The workshop attracted a diverse group of health professionals, researchers, clinicians, and postgraduate students. Participants gained practical insights into applying economic evaluation tools to improve health service decision-making and optimise resource allocation. The workshop concluded with a closing remarks by Prof Dr Victor CW Hoe, the Secretary General of APACPH, who expressed appreciation to the speakers and participants.
