Courtesy Visit by APACPH President to Universiti Malaya

The Asia-Pacific Academic Consortium for Public Health (APACPH) conducted an official courtesy visit to Universiti Malaya (UM) on 30 January 2026, led by APACPH President Professor Dr Hung Yi Chiou. The visit was held at the Universiti Malaya Chancellery at 2.30 pm.

The primary aim of the visit was to seek continued institutional support from Universiti Malaya for the APACPH Secretariat and the Asia-Pacific Journal of Public Health (APJPH) Editorial Office, both of which are hosted at the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya.

The meeting also reaffirmed the long-standing and mutually beneficial relationship between APACPH and UM in advancing public health education, research, and regional leadership.

Engagement with Universiti Malaya Leadership

The APACPH delegation was formally welcomed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & International), Professor Dr Hasniza Zaman Huri, before she proceeded to another official engagement.

The meeting was subsequently chaired by Professor Dr Yvonne Lim Ai Lian, Associate Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & International), representing the Vice-Chancellor.

The courtesy visit reaffirmed Universiti Malaya’s strategic importance to APACPH as a trusted academic partner, host institution, and leader in public health scholarship. Continued support for the APACPH Secretariat and APJPH Editorial Office will enable APACPH to strengthen regional collaboration, enhance scholarly output, and address evolving public health challenges across the Asia-Pacific.

APACPH expressed its sincere appreciation to Universiti Malaya for its enduring commitment and looks forward to deepening collaboration in the years ahead.
