The Asia-Pacific Academic Consortium for Public Health (APACPH) is pleased to share a new global initiative led by the Global Network for Academic Public Health (GNAPH) in collaboration with the Global Consortium on Climate and Health Education (GCCHE).
The Climate and Health Communities of Practice (CoPs) have been launched following the Climate-Ready Classrooms faculty development programme, bringing together academic public health professionals across seven global regions.
For the APACPH region, the first session was successfully initiated on 30 April 2026 under the leadership of Dr. Bala Murali Sundram (University Malaya, Malaysia).
These Communities of Practice aim to support faculty members in integrating climate and health into public health education through collaborative and regionally relevant approaches.
Key focus areas include:
- Development and adaptation of teaching materials
- Strategies for curriculum integration
- Addressing institutional barriers
- Strengthening workforce preparedness for climate-related health challenges
This initiative also promotes cross-regional collaboration and knowledge exchange among educators worldwide.
We encourage APACPH members to stay engaged and share this initiative within your institutions and professional networks.
