WHAT:

Digital stories in international health: multimedia approaches to researching and communicating responses to situation analyses in a third year public health cohort.

For the Situation Analysis assessment of the International Health course at QUT, Public Health students produced Digital Stories to portray their analyses of the constituent elements, structure, and inter-relationships of a population suffering the effects of poor health based on a variety of social, cultural, economic, and other material determinants . Digital Stories are multimedia movies created from easy to access software and webpages that combine photographs, video, animation, sound, music, text, and often a narrative voice. The assessment was designed to allow students to engage with new media technologies to generate powerful methods of communicating public health research.
